  Why Not Utopia?

Our tragedy today is a general and universal physical fear so long sustained by now, That we can even bear it.
William Faulkner

The Book FAQ

So far there isn't enough interest for questions, frequent or otherwise. What follows are questions you might ask if you gave a damn.

Why buy your book?
A California friend plays Lotto for two reasons. If he doesn't play, he can't win. If he loses, his loss contributes to the winner's happiness. Buy my book. Contribute to my happiness.

I repeat why buy?
You can't get an agent, let alone a publisher and the graphic makes the book look like crap. I repeat why buy it? - O.K. charity doesn't do it for you. The book contains new ideas about the human situation. Stuff you haven't considered. If you have no hope-you may find hope. If you don't know what to do, there are suggestions. Do you like eating corn with a built-in insecticide? I hate it. Maybe we can do something about it.

How do I know I'll get my money back if I return your book?
Out here in cyberspace we must trust strangers though it goes against our perception of human nature. In my business when someone says "trust me" I count my fingers to make sure they're still there. If I do what I say, you may rethink your feelings about people you haven't met. Your downside's twelve bucks. Cheap enough to test your perception of humanity.

Is equality (classlessness) a good idea?
I've never experienced a classless society, but it should be better than some of us living in mansions when others live in cardboard boxes. Utopian talk turn you off? Want your own mansion? What's in it for you?

Are you serious?
Do you really believe utopia's a human possibility? Who knows. You want certainty, visit your friendly undertaker. Societies change. Electronic technology offers the prospect of rapid change. Whether we choose to change, remains to be seen.

What about the tryanny of the majority?
The question exposes negative collective imagery. Why assume the majority will hurt you while a minority protects you? The society may protect individual rights better than legislators. Nothing ventured; nothing gained. O.K. Nothing ventured, nothing lost either. Your call.

Why me? Why not you? - Want social change?
Begin with yourself or do you dream of being the Billionaire Bill of your generation, a movie star, or president? If that's what you want, equality's not for you. Good luck with your fantasies. If you think equality is the way out, let's share ideas. Here's my plan Nothing's carved in cement except that today's certainties will become tomorrow's foolishness. That's a pretty sure bet.
